I quote from one of my favourite books, “Catch-22” by Joseph Heller.
Some people are born mediocre. Some people achieve mediocrity. And some people have mediocrity thrust upon them. With Major Major it was all the three.
I have a feeling that Major Major was/is/will be a literary allusion of my life past, present and future. I try to think of myself as a Math Geek, but a mediocre one. Alas, the insight into the deeper working of this awesome subject eludes me. I try to think of myself as a Quizzer, but have never won or even come close to winning a major quiz. I tend to think that I am funny, but I am yet to find a person who laughs at my jokes. I get a feeling sometimes that I am an intellectual in the making, but time and again, I have been proven wrong.
My name is Arjun N Bharadwaj. I am right now in my final year of Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras, officially specializing in Power Systems and Power Electronics, but unofficially in the art of making extremely bad puns. I was born in Mysore, but I have hardly lived there, most of my years being spent in Bangalore, followed by Chennai. I am mostly known around IITM by my nickname “Samaadhi”-and hence the bad pun in the title. Of course, the name of the blog-link is half sigma, which is by itself a pun on Sum-aadhi (Geddit?) Boneywasawarriorwayayix is an allusion to Napoleon, Asterix and the times of yore-frankly, I just liked the name. Nothing high funda about it.
I used to blog at http://www.arjunbwj.blogspot.com before and for variety of reasons, the chief among them being laziness, it has been defunct now for almost an year. I hope this blog would serve as a tool to express my views and comments on the world as perceived by me and maybe when I am older and hopefully wiser, I will look back into these relatively simple days and have a good laugh.
